Rain will continue through Monday morning and will be heavy at times. Overnight lows will be mild due to the warmer airmass with the warm front, mid to upper 50s. The cold front will increase the intensity and coverage of rain in the morning and once it passes, expect wind to increase to breezy around Puget Sound, gusting 20-30mph.
Monday afternoon will continue with rain at times and a gusty wind. A possible thunderstorm could develop later in the afternoon and evening. Highs in the 60s.
The first frontal system of Fall is enhanced by an atmospheric river and that's why rain totals will be impressive for Monday and Tuesday. Waves of unstable air and plenty of showers will be swinging onshore keeping threat of thunderstorms and gusty wind along with rain at times each day through Thursday.
After spending the better part of the week with an active jetstream, the jet will drop to our south, placing us in a cool, showery, trough of low pressure that settles in until Friday night.
Cooler air will drop highs Thursday and Friday into the 50s and overnight lows in the 40s but rain showers will be few and far between Friday. Higher pressure builds in and pushes the jetstream northward for drier warmer weather. The weekend will be dry, sunny and warmer with highs in the 60s to low 70s.
