SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A series of thunderstorms put on a spectacular lightning show over southern California Tuesday evening.
Lightning strikes started fires, blew out a power converter and possibly started a small fire, according to the Santa Barbara News-Press.
Mike Eliason with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department was out with his camera and captured several impressive lightning shots from Stearns Wharf.
He says the photos were taken in real time with exposures varying from 15-75 seconds, but no stacking was done. These were single frame images.

Up to 2-4 inches of rain was expected through Wednesday there as their very soggy winter continues.
