Beast Mode is back in pads and on the scout team?
SEATTLE --How is Marshawn Lynch spending his football retirement the first season away from the Seattle Seahawks?
Well, he's in Australia. And he is in pads.
California, Lynch's alma mater, will play Hawaii on Friday in a season-opener in Sydney.
Lynch showed up at Cal's practice on Tuesday, suited up and even took a few reps as a scout-team running back, ESPN reports.
Cal coach Sonny Dykes said if Lynch had an eligibility left, he have him carry the ball 50 times a day.
Meanwhile, Beast Mode is serving as a mentor to the team and ambassador for the football program.
"He's been really great with our players and has interacted with their families," Dykes told ESPN. "He loves young people and trying to have an impact on them. He does a lot of things that people don't know about behind the scenes. We're lucky to have him around."
