The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) is out with its annual report on wireless phone service. These ratings are based on interviews with more than 19,000 customers:
- T-Mobile leads the pack with a score of 76 out of 100.
- U.S. Cellular and Verizon are close behind at 74.
- AT&T scored a 73.
- Sprint finished at the bottom of the rankings again, at 65.
"T-Mobile provides the best value among those five mobile network operators and that's enough to boost them ahead of Verizon Wireless, even though Verizon actually continues to boast the best nationwide network among all of these network carriers," said David VanAmburg, ACSI managing director.
The ACSI survey shows Sprint has big issues with quality and reliability.
"That network is just not on par with those other networks. Lots of dropped calls, issues with call clarity and video streaming," VanAmburg said.
The big news from this survey: A smaller company, Consumer Cellular, which is marketed to seniors (AARP members get a discount) provided the highest satisfaction of any wireless carrier in the survey, with an ACSI score of 85.
