Hotel room prices are a lot like airfares: They're higher some days of the week and lower on others.

The travel website Hopper analyzed millions of hotel prices and found dramatic price differences.

In general, Saturday nights are the most expensive. Booking a hotel room in the US with a Saturday night stay will cost about seven percent more than booking a two-night stay during the week, the site found.

Sunday is typically the least expensive day to check in, with average room rates 19 percent off peak prices.
