Try not to flip out—but "IHOP Free Pancake Day – Flip It Forward" is back! On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, IHOP restaurants across the nation are giving away FREE short stacks of its world-famous buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with some markets extending hours until 10 p.m. (one offer per person).
In return, guests are asked to leave a donation of any amount, and all money collected in the Puget Sound Area IHOP locations will go to Seattle Children's.
Each year, Seattle Children's treats more than 160,000 children who are facing life-threatening and debilitating illnesses and disabilities, from cancer to asthma. Seattle Children's is part of the Children Miracle Network (there are 170 CMN member hospitals across the United States).
To-date, IHOP has raised more than $30 million for its charity partners since creating National Pancake Day in 2006 – renamed to IHOP Free Pancake Day in 2019.
In 2018, IHOP, its franchisees and guests raised $4 million for IHOP Free Pancake Day charity partners and served 3 million pancakes in a single day (IHOP hopes to raise $4 million again this year). They anticipate serving a record-breaking 5 million pancakes on IHOP Free Pancake Day – which when stacked, would be nearly 19 miles high!
Don't have time to stop by IHOP on March 12? You can still participate. Here's how:
- Purchase a wall icon now through March 12, 2019, to show support. Guests who buy a $5 wall icon will receive a $5 coupon good for a future purchase of $10 or more (valid at participating restaurants only).
- Purchase the Kid Chef pancake available in restaurants nationwide starting February 25. One dollar from every Kid Chef pancake stack or pancake combo sold goes to the local children's hospital or charity.
- Make an on-check donation of any amount at IHOP restaurants nationwide between now and March 31, 2019.
