9-year-old girl sells Girl Scout cookies outside marijuana dispensary
SAN DIEGO, California —
Some may think this is bad parenting while others may think its an awesome marketing strategy.
Cell phone video shows a nine-year-old girl selling her Girl Scout cookies out of a wagon near a marijuana dispensary, in San Diego.
The father and daughter would like to remain anonymous but told KGTV, she has sold more than 300 boxes of cookies in two or three hour trips on Wednesday and Friday.
Urban Leaf posted on Instagram, "Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today until 4pm! Have a friend that wants to #tagalong? Bring them with - shopping is more fun with friends anyway."
Alison Bushan with Girl Scouts told KGTV that they saw the social media post back at headquarters and had to consult the handbook.
The handbook said, "the girl scouts allow booths sales generally in front of any business, even dispensaries once they're approved."
Bushan says this would have been a major 'no no' if they had a table on the door, but the wagon off site changes everything.
Bushan said from a sales standpoint she has done all-right.
In case you were wondering there is still time to get your favorite cookies.
