Royal Wedding Clergy to visit Washington next week

Rev. Michael Bruce Curry (Circa)

SEATTLE, Wash. -- He was part of one of the most talked-about moments at last month's royal wedding.

Before Harry and Meghan exchanged vows, they sat next to each other, smiling, as Bishop Michael Curry talked about love.

“There’s power in love,” proclaimed Curry, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. He quoted the words of Doctor Martin Luther King Junior, then said “If you don’t believe me, think about when you first fell in love. The whole world seemed to center around you and your beloved.”

“He’s far more high profile now after the Royal Wedding,” says Bishop Greg Rickel, head of the Olympia Episcopalian Diocese.

Which means there will be more people wanting to see Bishop Curry when he visits western Washington next week, including making a stop at Seattle’s St. Mark’s Cathedral.
