Woman stabbed to death in Baltimore after giving money to people on street

BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF) — A 52-year-old woman was fatally stabbed overnight in Baltimore City, according to police.

Police say, just after 12:30 a.m., the victim identified as Jacquelyn Smith, and her family were driving in the area when they noticed a woman who appeared to be around 20 years old.

The woman was wearing a brown jacket and gave the impression that she was carrying a baby. She also had a sign that read, "Please Help me feed my Baby."

Jacquelyn was in the front passenger seat, when she rolled down her window to give the woman money. Police say that's when a man who looked to be around 30 years old approached the vehicle to thank the family.

The man then reached inside of the vehicle to grab the victim's wallet which started a struggle.

According to officials, the man pulled out a knife, stabbed the Jacquelyn in her chest, then fled on foot with the woman who was holding the sign.

Police say the female suspect is 5'4 and African American, the man is about 6' tall and has a goatee.
