A new report by the Wall Street Journal says that Jeffrey Epstein essentially tried to blackmail Microsoft founder Bill Gates over an affair that Gates had but a spokesperson for Gates said he never had any financial dealings with Epstein.

Legal Expert Karen Conti joined The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat Thursday to break it down.

“Well, apparently Epstein found out that Bill Gates was having an affair with a young woman and called up gates and tried to elicit $100 million donation to one of his charities that he was setting up and the reason that he started this charity was not only to make money for himself by generating management fees, but he was trying to repair his reputation after he pled guilty to sex crimes back in 2008,” she said. “It seems from what we know that this is part and parcel of what Epstein was doing with rich men. He was videotaping them having sex and extorting them for money.”

In the report by the Wall Street Journal, they say that Epstein discovered that Gates was having an affair with a Russian bridge player. Epstein used this knowledge to blackmail the world’s richest man, according to a source familiar with the matter.

“If you're a conspiracy theorist, and I'm not suggesting that you need to be on this but a lot of people think Epstein was murdered in his jail cell in New York rather than committed suicide,” Conti said. “So the idea that all these really important men with unlimited amounts of money were being extorted would lend itself to that theory.”
