Google Chrome to get rid of full-page ads

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Are you tired of auto-play or full-page ads on your browser? Google Chrome wants to ease your headache.

Google announced Tuesday that it is blocking the ads. The change will take place in February.

The company says it's a move proposed by the Coalition for Better Ads.

Google will block ads from websites that fall short of the standards for more than 30 days.

Sites can appeal the block, but they have to remove all the ads that break the guidelines before that can happen.
