11-month-old baby injured after shooting on Tennessee highway
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) - Police in Franklin, Tennessee are investigating a shooting on I-65 early Thursday morning in which an 11-month-old baby was injured by flying glass.
Officers responded to I-65 southbound near exit 68B at about 2:45 a.m.
Police said someone in a car shot into the rear passenger window of the victim's vehicle. An 11-month-old baby in the back seat was cut by flying glass.
Family members in the car say there were six people in the car when the bullet passed through. They said the family was on its way through Tennessee to Alabama for a family member's heart surgery.
A suspect has not been identified. The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored Dodge Charger with blue racing stripes.
The motive behind the shooting is unclear at this time. Anyone with information should call police.
