A driver whose car rolled down a hill off Interstate 84 tells police she was distracted by clearing her cup holder.

Oregon State Police said the car left the road after the driver was reaching down to put her drink in the cup holder, but her kids had stuffed it with rocks.

While she was trying to clear it out, she said she drove onto the shoulder.

Police said she then overcorrected and almost hit another car in the slow lane and swerved to the left to avoid crashing, causing the car to go over a dirt embankment and rolled 500 feet down the embankment.

Police said luckily the woman was wearing her seat belt and airbags were deployed, and no one was seriously injured as a result of this crash.

Hermiston police have shared this woman's recount on Facebook, with the hopes of cautioning drivers that distracted driving can come in many forms.
