Woman hit by car, seriously injured near West Seattle intersection
SEATTLE - A woman was seriously injured Monday when she was hit by a car near a West Seattle intersection, police said.
Officers and medics responded to the scene, in the 4500 block of 42nd Avenue SW, at about 10:20 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
A woman was found there with serious injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center and is expected to survive.
Officials said the woman was struck by a car while she was standing next to her own car, about to get in.
All lanes of 42nd Avenue were closed near the Oregon Street intersection in the aftermath of the accident.
