SEATTLE -- A woman was found injured as a fire broke out in an apartment building on Capitol Hill Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of East Denny Way around 3:10 p.m. for reports of a fire in the attic and third floor apartment, according to Kristen Tinsley with Seattle Fire.

As firefighters worked to douse the flames, a 62-year-old woman was discovered in the third floor unit an brought out to an ambulance. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, Tinsley said.

There is no word yet what started the fire, but firefighters said it stared on the third floor.

Crews said the fire caused about $200,000 damage to the building and about $100,000 to contents inside the units.
