SEATTLE — Trash collectors and other workers with Republic Services went on strike in Thurston County this week, vowing to stay off the job until they receive better pay, benefits, and working conditions.
While the main strike started in Lacey, it has led to a ripple effect of work stoppages impacting trash collections in Bellevue, Edmonds, Renton, Kent, Lynnwood and parts of unincorporated King and Snohomish counties.
Below is a list of locations listed on the Republic Services website as of 5:30 p.m. Thursday where impacted customers can drop off garbage:
Residents are asked to have materials in bags.

Republic Service said on its website it will “collect garbage, recycling and compostables as soon as circumstances permit and double the amount of garbage on your next regularly scheduled service day at no additional charge (as soon as circumstances permit).”
