Man in serious condition after early morning shooting in West Seattle, shooter at large

A 37-year-old man is in serious condition after a shooting at a Seattle apartment complex, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Officers responded to the 9400 block of 27th Avenue Southwest in West Seattle around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday morning and found a man with a gunshot wound in his back, said the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

Firefighters treated the man on the scene before he was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The SPD said although he is in serious condition, he is stable.

Police said the shooter fled the area and no arrests have been made.

Officers are investigating to learn what led up to the shooting, and the SPD said police dogs will assist in the investigation.
