TOPPENISH, Wash. – Washington Beef LLC, a company based out of Toppenish, Wash., is recalling approximately 30,260 pounds of packaged ground beef products.
The company says the products may be contaminated with extraneous materials such as plastic and metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The company issued the recall Saturday.
According to the USDA, the packaged ground beef was produced on Dec. 27, 2018, and has a “Use or Freeze by” date of Jan. 20, 2019.

The company says a consumer discovered the extraneous material and reported in to Washington Beef LLC, on Feb. 28, 2019. The USDA says there have been no adverse reactions due to consuming the recalled products.
Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
The Food and Safety Inspection Service is worried some of the recalled products may be frozen in consumers’ freezers.
Consumers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
