LYNNWOOD, Wash. - A teenage boy has been arrested for the stabbing of a Mill Creek man Wednesday at Lynnwood's Martha Lake Park, sheriff's officials said.

Shari Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said the 17-year-old suspect was arrested late Wednesday after admitting to a friend that he had stabbed a man at the park. He was booked for investigation of second-degree felony assault.

The 38-year-old victim walked into a store in the 1200 block of 164th Street SW at about 2:40 a.m. Wednesday and told employees he had been stabbed by a man he didn't know.

Deputies responded to the store and the victim told them that the suspect stabbed him in the chest after he told the suspect he would buy marijuana from him, Ireton said. The suspect then fled.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
