Student arrested in Todd Beamer's third bathroom fire

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Police here have arrested a student of Todd Beamer High School who is accused of starting a fire in a garbage can inside one of the girls' bathrooms on campus on Wednesday.

The fire was reported at 11:08 a.m. at which time students were told to evacuate to the auditorium. The blaze was contained to the bathroom and there are no reports of injuries.

The 17-year-old girl is being booked into jail and faces immediate expulsion.

Wednesday's bathroom fire is the third in a string of fires in as many days at the school.

On Tuesday police arrested a student accused of starting a fire in a boys' bathroom and causing $100 in damages.

On Monday another restroom fire caused $300 damage to a toilet paper dispenser. That incident is under investigation.
