State Patrol busts more than 180 HOV lane cheaters in 3 days

SEATTLE - Solo drivers trying to use the HOV lane for a faster commute better think twice.

The Washington State Patrol busted 187 HOV lane cheaters within a three-day span in Snohomish County this week.

Troopers were out three hours each day as part of an HOV enforcement crackdown.

The fine for illegally driving in the HOV lane is $136.
