Southbound Interstate 5 reopened near Marysville after crash

MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- Southbound Interstate 5 north of here is reopened after a construction-zone crash closed all southbound lanes.

Before 5 a.m. Wedesday, the driver of a semi-trailer truck did not slow down in a construction zone, the Washington State Patrol said.

The semi rear-ended a pickup truck with a trailer.

A second semi-truck was also involved.

The Marysville Fire District said four people had to be freed from the wreckage. One suffered serious injuries. A second patient was in stable condition, and two people suffered minor injuries.

The State Patrol said about 100 gallons of diesel spilled.

All southbound lanes were blocked for more than an hour.
