EBEY ISLAND, Wash. -- Three Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies were involved in a shooting Sunday night near Everett that left one suspect dead.
The shooting occurred on Ebey Island near Home Acres Road and US-2, east of Everett. According to the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office confronted a 35-year-old man who had been reported as suicidal by his wife at about 8 p.m. Sunday night. The Everett Fire Department declared the man dead at the scene.
Three Snohomish County deputies were involved in the shooting, ranging in experience from 2 to 12 years. They will all be placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. None of them were injured.
A firearm was recovered from the scene.
20th St. SE and exits from Highway 2 to Home Acres Rd. are now open following the investigation at the scene.
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team is investigating the shooting, and they will provide more information when it becomes available. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office will release the cause of death and the identity of the victim.
