SEATAC, Wash. - A SeaTac family is trying to move forward after losing their father and daughter in a tragic car accident while in Oklahoma.

Anna Teachman, 19, and her dad Mike, 51, left the family vacation and began driving to Oklahoma State University for her orientation. That’s when police say a truck hit their car head-on near the city of Mannford.

“They dropped us off at the Tulsa Airport. We actually had flown into Denver, Colorado and we were in Denver when we received the phone call,” said Anna’s sister, Kara Teachman.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Mike died at the scene and Anna was later taken off life support. The family decided to save and donate Anna’s organs.

“We both knew that if Anna could’ve made that choice, she would’ve done it," said Kara Teachman. "I f she had been standing there with us, she would’ve because she just loved everybody and that would totally be what she would do."

“There were four families out there, that we hope their lives are changed because of her donating their organs,” said Lori Teachman, Anna’s mother.

Anna Teacheman was named the state’s Dairy Ambassador in 2017 and had recently completed her service. Now Lori and Kara are holding on to their faith as they try to move forward without Mike and Anna.

The driver of the truck was also injured in the accident, but is expected to survive. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Friends have launched a GoFundMe account to help the family.
