SEATTLE -- If you're single, looking for love in Seattle is not a bad option, at least according to a new study.
WalletHub researched 180 U.S. cities across 35 indicators of dating-friendliness, ranging from share of single population to number of online dating opportunities to nightlife options per capita.
Seattle did quite well in that last indicator, ranking 6th nationally in nightlight operations per capita, and also finished well above average in restaurants per capita (9th), and in mobile and online dating opportunities, ranking 11th and 22nd, respectively.
In the three major categories of Economics, Fun & Recreation and Dating Opportunities, Seattle ranked 175, 7th and 23rd, respectively.
Add up all the scores and Seattle comes in ranked No. 9 for best city for singles. Other good choices are find a city named Portland: Oregon's version ranked No. 5 while Portland Maine came in 10th just behind Seattle.
The best city in the nation for singles, according to WalletHub? Atlanta by far. Denver finished a somewhat distant 2nd with San Francisco and San Diego rounding out the Top 5 with Portland.
Tacoma came in at No. 66 -- still above average -- while Spokane was ranked No. 114.
The worst city for singles? Surprisingly, it's in Hawaii in Pearl Springs. Pembroke Pines, Florida, Glendale, California, Brownsville, Texas and South Burlington, Vermont round out the bottom 5.
