Woman critically injured when struck by drunk driver, police say
A woman was critically injured when she was struck by a car Thursday evening in south Seattle.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Way South and South Henderson Street around 6:15 p.m., Seattle Police said.
The 39-year-old woman was struck by a van that drove away from the scene, according to investigators.
The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center.
Officers quickly searched the area and located the van a few blocks away. Police arrested the driver of the van for suspicion of DUI. They also arrested the passenger of the van for unrelated warrants.
