SNOHOMISH, Wash. - Human remains discovered near Snohomish in May have been identified as a mother who went missing in June 2016, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner said Thursday.

The medical examiner said Jamie Haggard died of homicidal violence.

Her remains were found May 9, by workers cleaning up litter near Downes Road and Fales Road.

The mother of two from Kenmore was reported missing on June 17, 2016 and last had contact with her family about a week earlier.

In 2016, investigators searched in the yard of the Kenmore home where Haggard had been staying, but didn't find any clues. The returned again nearly a year later and still came up empty.

The King County Sheriff's department said the case is now a homicide investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 206-296-3311.
