Portland has the worst drivers in the country, report says

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Rose City is getting some not-so-flattering recognition on the roads, as a new study ranked Portland as having the worst drivers in America.

The ranking took four factors into account: traffic crashes, speeding tickets, DUIIs, and other traffic violations like distracted driving.

Itcomes from QuoteWizard, a website that compares insurance quotes.

The website says Portland has the highest rate of speeding tickets in the country.

"Hard to believe speeding is the issue in Portland given the brutal gridlock traffic on I-5," the website added.

After Portland, the worst driving cities include Boise, Virginia Beach, Columbus, and Sacramento.

This isn't the first study to single out Portland as home to some of the worst drivers in the U.S.-- Allstate had Portland ranked at 190th out of 200 on their list of "Best Driving Cities."

Portland also landed on a list of the top cities for drunk driving (also compiled by QuoteWizard).
