Police investigating after man shot in the University District early Saturday morning

SEATTLE - A 35-year-old man is in the hospital after he was reportedly shot in the University District early Saturday morning.

Police say the man entered a restaurant atUniversity Way NE & NE 52nd St just before 3 a.m. Saturday and told staff that he had been shot in the face at a nearby playground.

Officers and Seattle Fire medics responded and the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. According to police, it appears that the man had been shot in the shoulder and had a laceration on his face.

Police say the man refused to provide any information on what happened. No witnesses or shell casings were located.
