Police arrest suspect after woman found killed in Milton apartment
MILTON, Wash. -- Police say Joshua Kioni Ellis, who was wanted after a woman was found dead Friday in her Milton apartment, is in custody.
Police said late Saturday night that he was taken into custody and jailed without incident, ending a search of several hours,
Police provided no more information about his arrest.
Neighbors are stunned to learn that a 27-year-old tenant was killed in her apartment on the 2800 block of Queen's Way in Milton.
"It's very shocking," neighbor Kelly Hutchinson said.
A relative doing a welfare check discovered the woman's body Friday afternoon and called 911, according to police.
Police say that the homicide stemmed from a domestic dispute.
"We know it's a domestic-involved homicide," Milton Police Sgt. Nils Luckman said. " We do have a person of interest in that."
Police aren't saying yet how the woman was killed. It's still unclear exactly when the incident happened.
"The homicide happened in the last week or so, that's all we really know at this time," Luckman said.
Neighbor Terri Ward said she never saw anything concerning coming from the victim's apartment. She said the woman had just recently moved in.
"It's very sad. It's sad when anyone loses their life...such a young lady," Ward said.
Milton is a very quiet city. There were no homicides reported in Milton last year.
This is the second homicide reported this year in the city.
