MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 3-year-old boy who was taken by his father.
Police say Jorge Ponte took his son, Carlo Ponte, from the Marysville Police Department parking lot during a scheduled visit on July 10 and never returned him.
According to police, Jorge is not his son's primary custodial parent. He is reported to be homeless and is known to frequent YMCAs, community centers, homeless shelters and soccer facilities.
The little boy is developmentally delayed and non-verbal.
Police say the father is familiar with most of Western Washington and also has lived in Wenatchee.
A possible sighting of the two was made in Mattawa, Wash., on July 18.
The father and son may be traveling in a blue 2005 Dodge Caravan with Washington license plate number BBC4721 or a white 2011 Volkswagen Jetta with Washington license plate number ACS6089.
Anyone who knows where Carlo and Jorge are right now is urged to call 911.
