Police: 1 wounded in shooting in Covington, gunman still on the loose
COVINGTON, Wash. -- One person was seriously wounded in a shooting in Covington Thursday afternoon and deputies are still searching for the shooter.
The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. near the Polaris Apartments in the 17100 block of SE 276th Street, according to Sgt. Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Department.
Two men were fighting in a grassy area outside the apartment buidling when one pulled out a gun and shot the other, West said. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, West said.
West initially said they were investigating two shooters, but now believe there is just one, who ran off on foot.
