Overturned semi rig spills 56,000 pounds of apples at Blewett Pass

BLEWETT PASS, Wash. (KOMO) - A semi rig overturned and spilled a 56,000-pound load of apples Monday at Blewett Pass, the Washington State Patrol reports.

State troopers responded to the scene, along Highway 97 in Kittitas County, at around noon after receiving reports of a semi rollover crash.

The semi truck and trailer were found overturned at the scene, and all 56,000 pounds of apples were scattered along the roadside and in the ditch.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays if traveling through the pass.
