Oregon woman killed in head-on crash with commercial truck
REDMOND, Ore. - A 73-year-old Prineville woman died Wednesday morning when her Chevy Malibu crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 97 and collided head-on with a commercial truck, Oregon State Police said.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, died at the scene of the 9 a.m. crash on the south end of Redmond.
The 48-year-old Bend man driving the Bend Roof Truss truck was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
The crash closed Hwy. 97 for more than three hours as state and local authorities investigated and cleaned up the crash scene.
