Police investigating after man shot in chest in Northgate area

SEATTLE — Police say one person was injured in a shooting in the Northgate area on Sunday.

Officers responded to the reported shooting in the 500 block of NE Northgate Way at 3:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old man in a hallway with a gunshot wound in his chest. Police began first aid before medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center.

According to witnesses, the victim and suspect knew each other, police said. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
