Water service slowly returns to Thurston County town of Rainier
RAINIER, Wash. - The entire Thurston County town of Rainier was without water for several hours Thursday due to a major water main break.
By noon, water service was slowly returning as crews made repairs to the system.
In the meantime, about 385 customers in the "upper zone" were issued a boil water notice.
A notice posted on the town's website says the system's reservoir is refilling but water pressure will be low until the capacity is back to normal levels.
Rainier is a small incorporated city about 10 miles southeast of Olympia with a population of about 1,800.
