Mt. Hood Meadows evacuates people from chairlift after storm causes it to stop running

MT. HOOD, Ore. – Employees at Mt. Hood Meadows evacuated about 150 skiers and snowboards from a chairlift due to hazardous weather conditions Wednesday morning.

According to Mt. Hood Meadows, the weather is impacting riders on the blue lift.

When the storm came in, the lifts stopped working.

Mt. Hood Meadows tried to de-ice the lift, but it didn’t work.

Crews strapped people into harnesses and lowered them to the ground.
