Motorcyclist killed after being rear-ended in 3-car crash in Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. - A motorcyclist was killed in a three-car crash in Auburn Monday evening, according to police.

Officers said a woman in an SUV was driving eastbound on 15th Street NW, near the State Route 167 overpass, when she rear-ended a man on the motorcycle.

Police said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The woman's SUV ended up on its side. Firefighters had to extract the woman from the SUV. She was taken to a nearby hospital. No word yet on her condition.

Officers said the 47-year-old woman initially was investigated for possible DUI. She was later placed under arrest on suspicion of vehicular homicide, said Cmdr. Mark Callier of the Auburn police.
