Marysville police seek white car linked to overnight drive-by shooting
MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Police are searching for a car they believe is connected to a drive-by shooting early Friday in downtown Marysville.
The incident unfolded at about 12:30 a.m. near the Shell gas station in the 1200 block of 4th Street, said Sgt. Jeff Franzen of the Marysville police.
A car drove slowly by, and the passenger opened fire at a 33-year-old Marysville man who was standing there. The car and its occupants then fled the scene.
Police responded and found the victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe it was not a random shooting, and that there was some disagreement between the victim and the person who shot him, Franzen said.
Grainy surveillance video footage shows a white car driving away from the shooting scene, and police are now trying to track it down. (A screenshot of the car is seen in the photo gallery above.)
Anyone who witnessed the shooting or who has information about the shooting is urged to contact the Marysville Police Department at 360-363-8300.
