Man wandering on I-5 struck, killed by passing cars
STANWOOD, Wash. -- A 37-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while wandering across I-5 near Stanwood Tuesday evening.
Troopers received numerous reports of a man acting deliriously as he was walking in the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Snohomish/Skagit County line, according to Trooper Heather Axtman.
Troopers were heading to the scene when calls came in reporting the man had been struck by a car. When they arrived, they found the body of the man in the freeway. Investigators say he was struck by two separate cars, and both drivers stayed at the scene.
The driver of the first car to strike the man did suffer some minor injuries that were treated at the scene.
The name of the man who died has not been released.
