Police: Man dies after being shot near Kent gas station

KENT, Wash. - A 48-year-old Auburn man was shot in the torso and died Wednesday morning near a Kent gas station, police said. The suspect fled on foot but was later captured.

Officers and medics responded to the 6300 block of South 212th Street about 9:10 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of shots fired.

The victim, was found in a parking lot near a Shell gas station. Police and medics tried to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said the victim was at the scene for a drug transaction.

Police said there was a dispute, and a 22-year-old Auburn man shot the victim and fled.

Police tracked down the man and arrested him.
