Driver crushed under van in freak accident in Monroe parking lot
MONROE, Wash. - A driver in his 20s was crushed when the vehicle he was working on fell on top of him in Monroe Tuesday night.
It happened in the O'Reilly Auto Parts parking lot in the 19000 block of U.S. Route 2.
According the Monroe Fire Department, witnesses said the man was there most of the day working on the van, but no one saw the vehicle fall.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 9:00 p.m. when someone discovered a man trapped under the car.
Crews were able to get him out from under the van, but he was pronounced dead.
Monroe police and the Snohomish County Coroner were called in to investigate. His identity has not yet been released.
