Man dies in attempted robbery in Everett overnight
EVERETT, Wash. - One man was fatally shot and another man was hurt during an overnight robbery in Everett early Tuesday morning.
The incident was called in at about 12:15 a.m. at an apartment complex at 22nd St. and Colby Ave. The male suspect tried to rob the victims and then drove away, although it's unclear what he took, if anything, according to Everett police. At some point, the victims were shot.
Both victims were adults. The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for treatment.
Police have not released much more information about the suspect, but they do have information to believe the victims may have known their attacker.
The name of the deceased victim is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
