SEATTLE - A disturbance that started aboard a Metro bus overnight in Seattle's High Point area ended with one man shot to death, police said.

The incident unfolded just after 11 p.m. Thursday as police responded to a report of a shooting at 35th Avenue SW and SW Morgan Street.

Officers found the victim, a 37-year-old man, on the sidewalk next to a Metro bus. He had been shot multiple times.

Officers provided first aid to the victim until they were relieved by medics. The victim was then rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where he died. No other information was immediately available about the victim.

A preliminary investigation found that the victim and the unknown shooter reportedly were involved in a disturbance on the bus just prior to the shooting, police said.

Investigators believe that both the victim and suspect got off the bus at 35th and Morgan and then the suspect shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

Investigators found at least three shell casings on the ground, and a KOMO News crew spotted a bullet hole in a U-Haul truck parked across the street.

No suspect description was immediately available.

Detectives are continuing to actively investigate. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Seattle Police Department’s tip line at (206) 233-5000.
