Man, 19, wounded in Pioneer Square

SEATTLE -- A 19-year-old man was shot twice Sunday night in Pioneer Square after being confronted by two men at First Avenue and Cherry Street.

Police say the victim is recovering at Harborview Medical Center. The shooter is at large.

Police got calls just before 7 p.m. about shots being fired in the 100 block of Cherry Street and were told that two men had run into a parking garage in the 100 block of James Street.

Police found the two men, one of whom was the man who had been shot twice in the stomach. He was rushed to Harborivew.

The other man said he and the shooting victim were walking near First Avenue and Cherry Street on Sunday night when a car pulled up and two men got out to confront them.

The men got into an argument, and one man pulled out a pistol and fired.

The men's car was a dark-colored Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. police said.
