Moms whose sons overdosed turn grief into action to combat Washington's fentanyl crisis

These three women all lost children due to accidental overdoses of fentanyl. In each case, the young men who died thought they were taking Percocet and had no idea it was actually a counterfeit pill filled with fentanyl. (KOMO)

Gen Pehlivanian said her son Trig was just 20 years old when he suffered a recurring throat infection and got what he thought was Percocet from an acquaintance. "Had he known there was fentanyl in that pill, he wouldn't have taken that risk. He loved life too much," she said. (KOMO)

Carol Schweigert was stunned when her son Trey died from an accidental fentanyl overdose. "I thought 'Oh dear God, we are going to have a tsunami of death across this nation if we don't get a warning out,'" Schweigert said. (KOMO)
