Little environmentalist gets emotional talking about Earth's future

Henry Marr (KOMO)

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (KOMO) -- Henry Marr had a little meltdown in the car the other day, and the video is getting a lot of attention.

More than 5 million people have seen the Mount Vernon 6-year-old's impassioned environmental plea.

"The planet is going to be wrecked! People are being so rude to it," he said, crying in the backseat.

It all started with a lesson in school.

"My teacher showed the kids at school a video in class of a chickadee eating trash and I almost cried and that's why I'm fired up," Henry said.

His mother is pretty amazed the rant went viral.

"Just seeing people that are so inspired by this little 6-year-old... And his passion, is pretty neat," said Allie Hall.

Henry has already written a little book, and his friends are ready to help the earth.

"Tomorrow we're going to plan what is going to happen and what is going to be our plan and we are going to go together at little mountain and take care of it," Henry said.

It's a big job, but he's starting small.

"I've been to a little mountain and guess what I've done? I've saved a slug," he said.
