BREMERTON, Wash. -- A suspected impaired driver in Kitsap County didn't much like those reminders to drive sober on Monday.

The 23-year-old driver managed to hit a sign that asked "Please don't drink and drive" and missed a bus stop by a few feet, the Washington State Patrol said.

Troopers said the accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. Monday on state Route 303 near Northeast Riddell Road on the outskirts of Bremerton. The driver was heading south when he left the road to the left, struck several signs on the northbound shoulder, then hit a number of shrubs and two parked cars, troopers said. The driver crossed back over SR-303 and struck a fire hydrant on the southbound shoulder where his car finally stopped.

The male driver, who is from Port Orchard, was suspected of using inhalants. He was jailed on investigation of DUI. There were no injuries.
