House fire sends plume of smoke over Seward Park-area neighborhood
SEATTLE - A Monday morning house fire has sent a plume of smoke into the blue skies over a Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Firefighters responded to the scene, near the intersection of South Eddy Street and Hampton Avenue South, about 10:15 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the home.
The Seattle Fire Department said an Uber driver reported the fire and was able to help the two occupants of the house get out.
Crew were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries.
The fire was accidental and started in a bedroom and extended to an attic, the Fire Department said.
Damage is estimated at $250,000 to the home and contents.
