Going to butt-dial 911? Don't discuss doing illegal stuff

BREMERTON, Wash. -- A woman with a warrant out for her arrest found out first-hand the perils of accidentally "butt-dialing" 911.

Bremerton dispatchers received a 911 call from an address on Cherry Avenue where they could hear a very angry woman yelling to a man presumed to be her boyfriend. Dispatchers could hear mentions about scratch lottery tickets and illegal activities.

Officers were sent to the home and as they arrived, the dispatcher could hear the woman say that she "saw the police" and would "not be going to jail," according to Bremerton police.

When the officers entered the home, the woman tried to give a fake name, but officers quickly learned her actual identity and found she had an outstanding warrant for trafficking in stolen property.

She was arrested and hauled off to jail.

"The jail takes away inmate's cell phones, so she should be able to avoid this problem, at least for a while," Bremerton police wrote.
